New Recruits Dress to Impress

Highways workers were given the red carpet treatment when they arrived at a health and safety training course to kick off the joint venture between May Gurney and WSP for Northamptonshire County Council’s sustainable transport highway services contract.

More than 100 new recruits for the May Gurney and WSP partnership attended a training course at Brixworth Countryside Park in Northamptonshire and left kitted out head to toe in the latest specialised work wear from Parker Merchanting.

Parker’s, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of personal protective clothing and site consumables, was chosen to dress and equip the workforce because of its ability to source the latest hi visibility clothing and footwear and handle large orders quickly and efficiently.

Parker’s Business Development Manager Boyd Rowland ensured the employees received the right sizes and combinations of boots, hats, jackets and trousers when staff finished their company induction training. A mean feat in itself, with over 100 different shapes and sizes attending the training course Parkers needed to be on site to ensure clothing was the right fit and allocated correctly.

“We were delighted to assist the May Gurney and WSP joint venture when they asked whether we could supply work wear for their new highways staff. After 100 years of providing on-site solutions, Parker Merchanting has secured an unrivalled reputation for supplying high-quality products and providing a reliable service to all its customers.

“Regardless of the size of customer order Parker’s will get the right product to the right place at the right time,” he added.

With more than 4,000 items in its core product range Parker Merchanting can fulfil any site order. This is backed by a superb distribution infrastructure of more than 18 regional branches across the UK, its own transport fleet and an extensive network of knowledgeable sales staff.
